World Book Day

11th March 2024

World Book Day once again provided just the excuse staff needed to get dressed up! This year we were visited by an Oompa Loompa, the Queen of Hearts, Jekyll & Hyde and Wednesday Addams, among many others (see the photos below).

Our amazing Librarians, Mrs Cooper-Evans and Mrs Keohane put together some fantastic events for World Book Day, including a Who’s Who book quiz (which you can find on our Antares page, HERE), a treasure hunt to find all the dressed up staff, a book swap for both students and staff, which was incredibly well received, and KS4 had a visit from local author KM Hamilton who spoke about her journey to becoming a published author.

Here at Carrington, we are keen to promote a love of reading and of storytelling, not just on World Book Day, but EVERY DAY. Our well-stocked library, Antares, is always here for students to choose a new book and disappear into the many different worlds that reading is a portal to.
