Innovation in Action, 8s Gatwick STEM
29th June 2026
A group of 8s recently enjoyed an exciting visit to the Gatwick STEM Centre, where they took part in a variety of hands-on engineering and problem-solving challenges.
The day was packed with teamwork, creativity and plenty of friendly competition. Students worked together to design, build and race electric cars, putting their engineering skills to the test as they tried to create the fastest vehicle. There was lots of cheering as teams watched their cars speed across the finish line!
Throughout the day, our Year 8s demonstrated excellent collaboration, resilience and problem-solving skills. They embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and represented the school brilliantly.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for students to experience STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in action and learn more about the exciting careers these subjects can lead to.
