Transition 2026
Welcome from the Transition Team!
Our Transition Programme ensures a secure and calm start into this next chapter of school-life, starting with getting to know your children in their primary schools and building positive relationships with them right from the beginning.
The Year 7 and wider Pastoral Team strive to provide the necessary support to your children every lesson, every day. Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team if you have any further queries about this important time.

Arbor
Arbor is our MIS (Management Information System). It is the centralised place for Attendance, Behaviour, Homework, Assessment & Reporting, and Communications for your family.
There is a Parent Portal for you to access, and on arrival in September 2026, students will also be guided to set up their own Student Portal.
It is a privacy feature of Arbor that ALL legal and primary guardians login to complete their own individual profiles.

Top Tips for Year 7s
Sustainable Travel to School
At Carrington School, we are committed to promoting safe, healthy and environmentally friendly travel for all our students. We encourage families to consider sustainable methods of travel wherever possible, helping to reduce congestion around the school gates and support cleaner air for our community.
Walking
Walking to school is one of the healthiest and most sustainable options. Many of our students live within a comfortable walking distance, and this helps reduce traffic on the roads leading to our site.
Public Transport
Our school is well connected by public transport.
- Train: The nearby train station provides convenient access for students travelling from surrounding areas.
- Bus: A local bus station is also within easy reach of the school.
We encourage students to make use of these reliable and sustainable travel options where possible.
Cycling
We actively support students who wish to cycle to school. Bicycle storage is available onsite. Cycling is an excellent way to stay active and reduce environmental impact.
Car Use
There are double yellow lines on the road leading to our gates. For the safety of our students and to minimise disruption to local residents, we kindly ask families to avoid driving to the school unless absolutely necessary. If travel by car is unavoidable, please arrange to park safely further away and walk the remainder of the journey.
