School Assessments

We assess the skills and knowledge of our students at two fixed points in the year through our SKI weeks - Skills and Knowledge Indicators.

These points allow us to compare performance within cohorts and aid our future planning, adapting curriculum and lesson plans to address misconceptions and further challenge pupils.

For students in Years 7-10, they are assessments, not exams, designed to find out what students have learnt. They take place in classrooms, although we often take the opportunity to give our older students some Exam Hall experience, mostly in assessment conditions to support the integrity of the assessment.

For students in Year 11, it's a valuable time where they can hone their exam skills in the same conditions they will experience in their final summer GCSE and BTEC exams.
