Game on in Holland
14th April 2026
During the Easter Break 55 Year 9 and 10 students enjoyed an action‑packed sports trip to Holland, combining competition, teamwork and plenty of fun. The group stayed at Center Parcs, which quickly became a highlight of the trip - especially the chance to visit the pool in the evenings. After busy days of sport, nothing beat relaxing, racing down slides and enjoying time together at night.
During the day, students took part in a wide variety of sports, including basketball, football, netball and dance. They focused on developing their skills, working effectively as teams and competing in matches, showing enthusiasm, resilience and determination at every opportunity. Whether refining a routine, scoring goals or demonstrating teamwork on the court, students gave their best and represented the school exceptionally well.
The netball team enjoyed a strong start, winning three matches on day one and progressing into the A League for day two, before finishing an impressive 5th out of 12 teams overall. This was a fantastic achievement, particularly as it was an U15 tournament and the team were competing against older students. The basketball team also delivered outstanding performances, defeating local Dutch side BCB Akros 57–36 and securing a hard-fought 55–55 draw against the Under 16 BDG Cougars on day two.
The trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their sporting skills, try something new and build friendships across year groups. A huge well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to the staff who organised and supported the trip.
