Festival of Culture
20th April 2026
On Friday 17 April we hosted a Festival of Culture - a day dedicated to celebrating the rich diversity within our school community.
The day featured a range of activities including informative stalls and displays and an interactive tutor time focusing on exploring traditions and languages from around the world. Students were invited to come into school on this day in traditional cultural dress, or to dress in the colours of their country’s flag.
Students also held flag face painting, henna and bake sale stalls during the event to raise money for a local charity supporting refugees and raised over £600.
It was a fantastic day celebrating all the different cultures respresented across the school and we are all looking forward to the next Festival of Culture already.
We asked our students what they thought of the event
"I liked the diversity of different cultures and the activities that were at each stand like for example some stands had their traditional dishes, some had a quiz and challenges"
"I really liked how interactive the stalls were and how you got to learn things from other cultures and try different foods"
"I liked that there were lots of sales and we raised a lot of money for charity"
"It was very inclusive and diverse with many different countires expressing themselves which I think is really nice"
