7s Take On Bude
15th June 2026
From the moment Year 7 arrived on the Cornish coast last week, it was non-stop action with our youngest students really making a splash (literally and figuratively)! Armed with wetsuits and determination, students braved the waves, surfing like pros.
But the sea wasn’t the only place they tested their courage. Up on dry land, the high ropes course had students climbing, balancing, and occasionally wobbling at impressive heights. Cheered on by friends below, even the most nervous participants found their confidence!
Back on the water, things got a bit more synchronized during kayaking sessions as students tried to navigate the water without spinning in circles or bumping into each other too often.
Evenings were just as lively with karaoke and an impressive display of fancy dress. There were many Mario Brothers running around - so many, in fact, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped into a video game. Meanwhile, the staff took a different approach, transforming into a group of wild-west cowboys.
Special mention has to go to Mr Henderson-Jones, who truly committed to the role - stealing the show by riding around on an inflatable horse. Yes, really!
Overall, the trip was a huge success, packed with challenges, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Tired but happy, Year 7 returned with stories to tell and friendships strengthened. What a way to end Year 7.
