Snow Way! 11s Alpine Adventure

13th April 2026

During the Easter break 51 Year 11 students headed off on the ski trip of a lifetime to Valloire in the French Alps. After a very long journey by coach, the group arrived ready to take on the mountains for a whole week of skiing, laughs and very tired legs.

For most of the students, this was their very first time on skis, which made the experience even more memorable. The first couple of days were filled with ski lessons, wobbly starts and the classic beginner question "How do I stop?!" With the help of brilliant instructors and lots of encouragement, confidence quickly grew and by the end of the week many students were racing down the slopes like pros.

When they weren’t skiing, students enjoyed the snowy views, evening activities and plenty of hot chocolate to warm up after a day in the cold. There were a few tumbles along the way, but lots of laughter too, and a real sense of achievement as everyone pushed themselves out of their comfort zone.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity for Year 11 to try something new, build independence and make memories with friends before the exam season begins. A huge thank you to the staff who gave up their week to make the trip such a success – and well done to all the students for embracing the challenge. Valloire will definitely be remembered for years to come!
