Swapping the Classroom for Croissants, 8s Visit France
14th July 2025
Last week, 40 excited Year 8s and four brave members of staff headed across the Channel to Boulogne-sur-Mer in France, for a trip full of fun, learning and lots of croissants!
First up was a visit to Nausicaá Sea Life Centre, and things only got sweeter from there with a visit to the Chocolaterie de Beussent Lachelle, where students learned how chocolate is made, and, of course, got to sample the goods.
A trip to the coast wouldn’t be complete without some time on the beach and a turn on the ferris wheel, followed by a tasty stop at Boulangerie Le Fournil, where everyone had a go at making (and definitely eating) some fresh croissants - the smell alone was worth the trip!
To balance out the sugar rush, the group visited La Coupole History Centre which was an eye-opening experience, exploring World War II history.
Finally the group spent the day at Parc Bagatelle, where everyone let loose on rollercoasters and rides.
A massive ‘merci’ to the staff who organised and accompanied the trip. It was an unforgettable few days packed with memories and new experiences.
