More Please! Oliver the Musical Comes to Carrington

26th March 2026

Our whole school production of Oliver the Musical hit the stage this week, and what a triumph it was! After three sold‑out nights, it’s safe to say our talented cast, dedicated crew, and tireless staff delivered a show that would’ve made the West End proud.

From the moment the curtain rose, the production was slick, polished, and bursting with energy. The audience was immediately swept into Victorian London thanks to stunning sets that transformed the hall into everything from the workhouse to Fagin’s den. Honestly, the backstage team deserve their own round of applause for pulling off scene changes with such style.

A huge shout‑out to all our standout cast members who lit up the stage every night; with  special mention to

  • Alex as Fagin - gloriously mischievous with just the right amount of villainy
  • Brinley as Mr Bumble - booming, bossy, and brilliantly funny
  • Charlie as Oliver - sweet, sincere, and utterly captivating from start to finish
  • Charlotte as Bill Sykes - menacing throughout!
  • Martha as Nancy - powerful vocals and loads of heart; a real show‑stopper
  • Maylea and Florence as The Artful Dodger - charming, cheeky, and an instant audience favourite
  • Ruby and Emilia as Widow Corney - delightfully dramatic with perfect comic timing
  • The 'Who Will Buy' Soloists - Gabrielle, Elsie, Betsy and Angel - truly amazing voices!
  • Backstage Crew - you turned the sets around with style

But they weren’t alone - the whole cast gave it their all, filling the stage with buzzing ensemble numbers, quick choreography, and more than a few "aww!" moments.

Everything came together: the acting, the singing, the costumes, the lighting, the unbelievably smooth stage transitions - it all created a performance that felt genuinely professional. Parents, students, and staff all left humming the songs, and the feedback has been nothing short of glowing.

A massive well done to everyone involved - performers, backstage crew, staff directors, and all the helping hands along the way. You truly brought Oliver! to life.

Roll on next year’s production… the bar has been set very high!
