History Brought to Life

6th February 2026

Last week, our Year 10 GCSE History students – along with Year 8 – had a truly eye‑opening encounter with the past thanks to a special visit from Frontline Living History. The session brought World War One out of the textbook and into real life, giving students the chance to get hands‑on with genuine equipment and discover what life was really like for soldiers on the front line.

Year 10 explored the realities of WW1 through artefacts, uniforms, weapons and personal items that told powerful stories of courage, hardship and resilience. The experience added an exciting depth to their GCSE course, helping them understand how the past continues to shape the world we live in today.

Year 8 weren’t left out either - they enjoyed their own presentation from the same speaker, sparking plenty of curiosity and lively discussion. From learning about trench life to discovering the small details that history often forgets, students were fully absorbed from start to finish.

A huge thank you to @frontlinelivinghistory for delivering such an engaging and inspiring day.
