It’s been a busy and inspiring few weeks for Year 10 as they had the opportunity to consider what life might look like after they finish school in Year 11.

Students had the opportunity to attend taster days at East Surrey College and Reigate College, where they got to experience a variety of subjects and get a feel for college life.

At East Surrey College, students took part in hands-on sessions in vocational courses such as Hair and Beauty, Media, Film, Engineering, and even Brick Laying while at Reigate College, subjects on offer included new courses like Fashion & Textiles, Criminology, Classical Civilisation and Law.

In addition to the Taster Days, ours 10s also spent one or two days doing work experience, getting a real taste of the working world. From helping out in shops and cafes to supporting office teams or taking part in virtual work experience, students showed maturity, responsibility and enthusiasm wherever they went.

These experiences are a key part of helping students start to think about their next steps and we give a big thank you to East Surrey College, Reigate College and all the families and businesses who supported with work experience.
